Taste of Europe: An Eastern European Deli

Taste of Europe is a little Eastern European Deli in an industrial area on the northwest side of Indianapolis that serves hot food in a small dining room off to the side of the store. It is a great place to go if you want a good lunch or dinner with no frills. The food is fresh, satisfying and above all delicious. Just don’t go there expecting to eat and leave because it’s guaranteed you’ll find something else in the store to add to your bill! Read More at The Whole Hog

Good Mediterranean Lunch at Mediterrano Cafe

The Mediteranno Cafe is a great diversion from the ubiquitous hamburgers, burritos, and other fast food fair that a 30 minute workday lunch usually offers. The food is fresh, if a bit bland, and there are some really great standouts on the buffet. Read More at The Whole Hog

Pub Food at Lord Ashley’s is Disappointing

Overpriced Gourmet at The Local

Overall I was disappointed with my lunch at The Local. The only reason I’m giving the place a positive rating on the food is because of my previous experiences there. Unfortunately, I am unable to recommend any one dish because the menu is always changing. Consider that a good thing. Read More at The Whole Hog

Wonderful Cuban Cuisine at Havana Cafe

Rating:  Cuisine: Cuban Dress: Casual Average Price of an Entrée: $7.00 Children Friendly? Yes It seems Jeff and I are on a streak. We haven’t been to a restaurant that deserves less than Three Piggies in over a month! This week we are back on the west side of Indy reviewing one of the very few Caribbean restaurants in Indianapolis, the Havana Cafe. I find it amusing this little cafe is located just around the corner from the Saigon Restaurant we reviewed last week. Is it me or does the west side have the widest variety of ethnic restaurants in Indy? … Read More at The Whole Hog

King Ribs: An Indianapolis Barbecue Joint

If you have a hankering for barbecue in Indianapolis, King Ribs is a pretty good choice to satiate that desire. For dessert, if you like the kind of sweet that will rot the teeth out of your mouth as you chew, go ahead and have a piece of Chess Pie. Otherwise opt for the fantastic Sweet Potato Pie.
