Nachos were invented in the 1940’s by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, a maitre d’hotel in Piedras Negras Mexico when he created a new snack made of quartered and baked corn tortilla’s topped with cheese and sliced jalapeno peppers to satisfy some US soldier’s wives who had arrived at his hotel after the kitchen closed. The recipe has since expanded to include all sorts of toppings.
Put a small amount of salt in the water you are using to wash your veggies draw out sand and critters.
Are very edible, with a sweet lemony flavor and are great toppings for fruit salads and desserts.
Placed across the top of a pot will prevent the pot from boiling over.
